Randy Pausch RIP
i only learned about this guy today, he just died from terminal cancer. seems like he inspired alot of people with his attitude to life and death as he sought to fulfill his dreams. a couple of quotes i particuarly liked are
"Don't complain. Just work harder [shows slide of Jackie Robinson, the first black major league baseball player]. It was in his contract not to complain, even when fans spit on him."
"Remember, brick walls let us show our dedication. They are there to separate us from the people who don't really want to achieve their dreams. Don't bail. The best of the gold's at the bottom of barrels of crap."

Food
I´ve found a great restaurant in ibiza town that does really nice eat all you want buffet food, starter, main, dessert and drink for under 10 euros. You also can use their internet for free. So obviously what I do is eat a meal, go on the web for a couple of hours and then eat another meal. Yum.
I kind of have a job now, working on the pimpest and most expensive yacht on the island. I clean the outside of that f""ker so clean you could eat a meal of it. Not the most glamourous job ever but i get to hang out at the marina on a nice boat, meet intersting people and get paid enough for a mornings work to cover the cost of hiring a scooter and pay a days rent. Its not a permanent job though so will play it by ear.
Am now in the booking stage of planning for my tour, will fly to New York as it is pretty much unavoidable to not fly, then trains from there on. North up to Canada (Toronto) then west to Vancouver, then down through California, stop off in LA and maybe San Fran. Into Mexico where I´ll hopefulñly hook up with an old friend Lucy, then maybe Cuba, then into Colombia, Peru, Argentina and finally Brasil where I hope to spend a couple of months :)
After that i´ll come back to UK and then head to China and Japan, budget permitting.
After that, who knows? Maybe come back to Ibiza for another Summer.........
Random sighting of the day so far is a one legged hippy on crutches laughing manically. Only in Ibiza.

Benicassim Rocks
Back in Ibiza after a week living in a refugee camp, sorry music festival campsite. Thats one week of sleeping for about 3 hours a night, if thats possible in a tent in the Spanish Summertime, queing half an hour to use a cold trickling shower, eating festival food and sandwiches and PARTYING hard! Awesome music from Justice, Hot Chip, The Raconteurs, Yelle and Babyshambles amongst many others.
Met some really great people including a bunch of about 20 crazy boys and girls from Barcelona and a bunch of wild English girls, all of whom did their best to get me into trouble.
Back home in Ibiza now and cleansed and well slept, creature comforts rule.

mo´ money mo´ problems
well, not for me as i´m skint but i sampled the lifestyle of the rich and the famous. my mate invited me to look round the boat he works on. the boat is a 90ft super yacht worth 6 million euros. pretty fancy. can´t tell you who it belongs to as they are high profile in spain, as such wasn´t allowed to take pictures inside either but it was the business, and only a year old too. bigger, and nicer than most of the houses i´ve seen!
it is moored up in the port in ibiza town, apparently other residents at the moment include the brasilian footballer ronaldo and also joss stone, who i have a great piece of gossip on but don´t want to get sued for libel (as i´m sure her people read this blog).

ordinary world
life is brilliant since i got the scooter, you can´t beat burning through the hills of ibiza on two wheels. this was my day yesterday:
815 wake up, shower, breakfast
0900-1100 wing chun class in san antonio, stretch, did the 1st form, single and double hands drills, chi sao, push/pull drill
1100-1230 went back home, had a shower, chilled
1300-1400 internet cafe in eivissa town
1400-1500 drove back home, had lunch
1500-1630 siesta, some quality time spent in the hammock
1630-1800 lay on the beach at cala vadella, saw a few of the locals i know down there and bumped into Jose, one of my housemates
1800-2000 chill out at home, have a snack, chat with Jose and Benja (housemates)
2000-2200 wing chun training, more of what we did this morning although more chi sao, and with Jose who is hardcore. Nino (teacher) told me to focus on the basics, stance and form whilst Jose focussed on battering me!
2200-2300 made and ate dinner with Jose, had a brewski to wash it down
2300-0000 smoked a pipe, had a shower and then went to bed
Although i did not neccesarily making the world a better place to be yesterday, it was a great day so I must have sent out some good vibes.

ibiza rocks
i was invited along to ibiza rocks last night by some friends and saw the fratellis and ladyhawke play. it was an outdoors concert in the middle of nowhere at a horse racig track, which was actually a really good venue. loads of up for it people there, had a few beers and then decided to ride the 30km home on my scooter, maybe not the most sensible decision ever but i got home in one piece. gig was good although to be honest i could take or leave the fratellis, i don´t think they are anything special but a good live band none the less. plus you can´t complain when you get invited for free.
starting to prepare myself for FIB festival in Benicassim next week, a week spent camping and partying, sounds like dirty fun to me.
i´ll leave you with a random piece of news i read today about a girl with a bat in her bra:

Po-Po
have been to the cop shop today to get my NIE (social security number basically). told to come back for an appointment in 3 weeks, awesome.
best thing so far today was seeing a cafe called "Bumm Burger", it was closed so i couldn´t check out the menu unfortunately!
going to the beach this afternoon. just need to decide which one. life is tough.

more scooter fun
today was/is pretty chilled. didnt make it to the the salsa party at the beach last night but went down to a little bar at cala vadella beach for a couple of beers, a sandwich and a very nice spliff. i´ve now decided all good things in moderation and so won´t beat myself up for starting to smoke weed again, i like it so i´ll do it (what a rebel).
spent today exploring the west coast of the island on the scooter, saw some breathtaking views, some lovely beaches and pushed my 50CC scooter to the limit ;) . just wish i could put the photos up now, but dont think i can in this internet cafe. hopefully we´ll be back online at home soon.
jobwise still drawing a blank, maybe i just dont want to work?? Paco Piscinas has gone quiet on me and i went and asked in a local bar where i know the landlady but they are fully staffed at present. oh well, something will turn up.
i´m going to ibiza rocks tomorrow night to see The Fratellis amongst others and hitting San Antonio on Friday night for my first West End experience, not sure how I feel about that, but as Ron Burgundy says, when in Rome.....
Back to wing chun class tonight for the first time in a couple of weeks, i hurt my back on saturday so not sure how much i will do tonight but it will be nice to see everyone anyway.
I´ll leave you with this thought:
There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

2 wheels good 4 wheels bad
so, yesterday was a good day. it seemed pretty crap at first and i was thinking that this could be my last week in ibiza. but then things got better. i hired a scooter. i had a new found freedom to get myself around the island. liberty is a wonderful thing and even better on 2 wheels.
after zooming over to bora bora, where i saw someone puke up on the beach, i decided to go home and chill out. so, watching the sunset from my terrace i hung in the hammock, listening to tunes and reading my book( which is definitely starting to improve my spanish). along comes my new house mate who introduces himself and suggests rolling a joint. what a great idea. he seems like a cool guy and knows alot about south america, where i am planning on heading in the next couple of months.
my other house mate retuned with the news that he had a job for me as a gardener, working in big posh villas. result, getting paid for working with the earth, getting a suntan, in really nice gardens. i have to discuss this with the boss, Paco ´Piscinas´(Swimming Pools!) and will meet him later today.
basically if i get this job i will def stay here for the summer, if not, maybe plan B.....
anyway, i need to start adding photos to these blogs, will work out a way of doing that soon

what am i supposed to say here?
well, i´m sat in an internet cafe in barcelona (an awesome city) and thought i should start writing down some of the random stuff that has been happening. also, this is a bit of a test, as i haven´t written a blog before.
so, what was the most random thing to happen today? nothing so far, pretty un-random but it is only 1130 and i only got up an hour ago, after far too much to drink last night with some old mates.
however, yesterday i did see a tramps bottom near the port. that was pretty random.
