Lazy

2 weeks since my last post, truth be told, not much to say. have been busy doing the usual ie kung fu, eating, rowing, cleaning superyachts, sunbathing etc.

went out on tuesday to www.ibizarocks.com which was at the ibiza rocks hotel, which is actually really cool but i can´t imagine you would get a minutes peace i a hotel designed to be rock and roll, imagine Butlins on crack and you would get some idea of what it´s like. Soulwax played a lives set and then did their 2ManyDjs thing afterwards. a good night out.

have spent alot of time recently planning out my journey. i´ve now decided to spend more time in the USA and am really looking forward to doing loads of cheesy things like re-enacting scenes from the movies ie Ron Burgundy in San Francisco, Ghostbusters in New York, Cheech and Chong in Tijuana (although not planning on smuggling drugs across the border) etc etc

anyother movie re-enactment suggestions please let me know.

my plan is now to do LA for a week, then NY for a week and then onto Seattle, via Chicago. From Seattle up into Canada to Vancouver and then back down the West Coast before crossing the border on foot into Tijuana.

planning this out has been a complete pain in the arse and is still a work in progress, but approaching completion (i hope)

am now into my last week in Ibiza, and am sad to leave behind some good friends i have made here, but also really excited to get going on what should be a trip of a lifetime!

birthday

today is my 34th birthday. i got up at 825am, went to kung fu class until 1030. then drove to the beach to take my catalan customers out to their yacht. rowed back to the beach, smoked a joint and had an ice cream. then i drove to eivissa for lunch. nice. will be at training tonight, may take myself out this weekend to celebrate in style.

yesterday was nice too, went to a tiny beach with benja and some spanish girls. there was about 10 people there in total and was nothing more than a cove with a very small pebble beach, no shops bars or restuarants for a couple of kilometres. took a picnic, bathed in the sea to cool down and stayed there a few hours. we went up on the cliffs overlooking es vedra to watch the sunset, without a doubt the best place i have seen for a sunset yet in my life. i have a couple of greast photos which this PC wont let me upload :(

Lately I Have Been Mostly

Chilling. Went clubbing on Thursday night with Benja to Space and then KM5, which is a really nice place although could be a little bit less upmarket, although it wasn´t poncey, just too many people with their shirts tucked into their jeans. Nice music, lovely location, plenty of outdoors bars and sofa areas, well worth going to to although its pricey.
Saturday and Sunday did a fair bit of wing chun with Jurgen, the Austrian. Went to the beach a bit. Ate some food. Had fun.

Clubbing

clubbing is obviously what most people think of when ibiza is mentioned. i have finally had a night out indulging in the aforementioned activity, managed to blag onto guest list for ´we love sundays´, the biggest night of the week at space. it was ok, space is a cool club and it was rammed full of up for it clubbers but the tunes were a bit too samey for me, i´m more of an eclectic man. may go back this week though as chemical brothers are playing a dj set there. will have to save up though, 10 euros for a bottle of beer ain´t cheap.

work

View from the restaurant on the beach at Cala D´Hort, where they filmed South Pacific.

Have got a new job, I am now working 1.5 hours a day ferying a Catalan family to and from their yacht from the beach in Cala Vadella. I row them out in the morning, unlock where the yacht is attached to the bay and they go off for the day, then when they come back they give me a call and I go pick them up. A bit stressful at first, as I know absolutely nothing about boats, the sea or rowing but I´m getting better at it! As such, I am earning 15 euros a day, which pays my rent. Happy days.

I have some more photos I want to post but for some reason now can´t. Oh well, another time.
